A cheap, long-battery watch that Gadgetbridge rates "highly supported", so you can skip the Zepp cloud entirely (after extracting an auth key once). No public personal API. Zepp Aura is an optional subscription.

Activities are standard FIT files you can copy over USB. Gadgetbridge supports the fēnix 8 without Garmin Connect. The official Health/Activity APIs need business approval. Garmin Connect+ is optional.
